  • Elantra and Tucson earn top recommendations in fifth annual motoring.com.au Recommends awards
  • All-new Elantra a top choice in hotly contested under-$30K Family Car category
  • Tucson a top choice in thriving under-$50K SUV category for the second year in a row

Hyundai has again starred in the prestigious motoring.com.au Recommends awards, with accolades going to both Elantra and Tucson.

Significantly, Elantra and Tucson were star Recommends awards performers in two of Australia’s most hotly contested new-car market categories.

The all-new Elantra, launched in Australia earlier this year, was a motoring.com.au Recommends awards top choice in the strong under-$30K Family Car category.

Tucson was a top recommendation in the thriving under-$50K SUV category. It was Tucson’s second star-billing in the motoring.com.au Recommends awards, having also been nominated as a top choice in the same category last year.

Hyundai vehicles have been consistently recommended in the motoring.com.au Recommends awards since the inception of the awards five years ago.

“This is yet another great result for Hyundai across two of Australia’s strongest new-car market categories,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Operating Officer, Scott Grant.

“Our customers tell us they love the Australian-tuned Elantra and Tucson, and these coveted Recommends awards show motoring.com.au’s professional critics have endorsed them too. We’re delighted.”

Based on votes cast by its widely experienced road test and editorial team, motoring.com.au’s Recommends awards recognise and award the five best new cars on the Australian market in each of 13 lifestyle categories.

motoring.com.au’s team considers a wide range of attributes in making choices for each Recommends awards category including vehicle performance, refinement, handling, suitability for purpose and value for money. Resale, reliability and factors such as warranty and the availability or otherwise of benefits such as capped-price servicing are also considerations.

The top-five vehicles recognised in each of the motoring.com.au Recommends awards categories also become contenders for the carsales.com.au Car of the Year awards, to be announced in November, this year.
