These include Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)[P6], Surround View Monitor (SVM)[P6] and Rear Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (PCA-R)[P6], which all use advanced radar and camera sensors to anticipate obstacles and potential accidents around you, to help keep you alert and as safe as possible on the road.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).

Like a second set of eyes, this system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to look out for vehicles in the driver’s blind spot. When BCA detects a vehicle in those blind spots, it provides visual and audible alerts, and if it detects a potential collision, it initiates active avoidance braking and steering manoeuvres to help keep your Tucson out of harm’s way.
Blind-Spot-View-Monitor.svg

Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM).

Signalling left or right with the Tucson’s indicators will activate Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM). This safety system can see cars travelling in rear blind spots and projects real-time video onto the digital supervision cluster, giving you a more complete driving picture to respond to.
Available on the Highlander variant.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Junction Turning (JT).

The FCA system is designed to reduce the risk of collision by detecting and monitoring oncoming vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. And when the driver activates the indicators to turn right at a junction, the JT system recognises any oncoming obstacles ahead using its front view camera and front radar. If there’s a risk of a frontal collision, JT warns the driver of the danger ahead and if necessary, applies emergency braking to avoid an impact.
Lane_Keeping_Assist_Icon.svg

Lane Keeping Assist – Line/Road-Edge (LKA-L/R).

This steering-assist function detects lane markings on the road to monitor your position in a lane. Should you stray from a lane without activating your indicators, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and where required, steering intervention will activate to keep you in your lane.
Lane-Following-Assist.svg

Lane Following Assist (LFA).

LFA uses the Tucson’s front windshield-mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure you stay safely centred in your lane while driving.

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist – Rear (PCA-R).

When you’re slowly reversing in a garage or parking spot and the PCA-R anticipates a likely collision with an obstacle or even a pedestrian, the system will warn you with visual and audible alarms and if necessary, will engage the Tucson's emergency brakes to prevent impact.
Available on the Highlander variant.
Rear_Cross-Traffic_Collision-Avoidance_Assist_Icon.svg

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

When backing out from a parking position, RCCA detects vehicles approaching from the left or right. The sensor will issue an audible alert and visual warning on the dashboard and if necessary, will initiate a braking manoeuvre.
Rear_Occupant_Alert_Icon.svg

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).

This system monitors the opening and closing of the Tucson’s rear doors, to make sure nothing and no one is accidentally left behind inside. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a “check rear seats” alert message in the supervision cluster.
Rear_Occupant_Alert_Advanced.svg

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) – Advanced.

This system includes all the elements of standard Rear Occupant Alert (which helps ensure no one is accidentally left behind inside), plus on the Elite and Highlander variants, it will sound an audible warning alarm if it detects any movement in the rear seats after the Tucson’s ignition has been turned off and the car has been locked by the driver.
Available on the Elite and Highlander variants.
Remote-Smart-Park-Assist_System.svg

Remote Smart Parking Assist System (RSPAS).

Imagine coming back to your car after a long day of shopping and finding two cars parked so close either side of you that you can’t open your doors to get in. With Tucson, that’s not a problem. Simply activate Remote Smart Parking Assist with your smart key and watch your Tucson drive itself straight out of that tight spot, so you and your passengers can comfortably hop in. Better still, your Tucson can drive straight into tight parking spots exactly the same way.
Available on Diesel Highlander variants only.
Safe_Exit_Assist_SEA_Icon.svg

Safe Exit Warning (SEW).

The system detects any oncoming vehicles approaching from the rear and alerts the driver that it may be dangerous for passengers to exit the Tucson, with both a sound and a pop-up visual warning appearing on the dashboard.
Smart_Cruise_Control_Icon.svg

Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go.

This system utilises the front radar sensor to detect the speed and distance of a vehicle travelling ahead in the same direction and lane. It then automatically maintains a safe distance from that vehicle, up to a maximum speed pre-set by you between 0km/h and 180km/h.
Surround_View_Monitor_Icon.svg

Surround View Monitor (SVM).

This multi-camera parking safety system generates a 360-degree bird’s eye view around your Tucson from various viewpoints including top view, front, rear, left and right, displaying them on your multimedia screen to assist you in successfully manoeuvring tight parking situations.
Available on the Highlander variant.
