Fixed gear.

The IONIQ Electric doesn't rely on a conventional gearbox. Instead, its efficient powertrain joins forces with a single-speed reduction gear, to provide instant acceleration and performance at all speeds. This level of responsiveness optimises energy efficiency and reduces noise, all with zero emissions.

Hyundai IONIQ Electric Driving Down Bendy Road

Up to 311km[R1] range.

With a 100kW electric motor connected to a fully-charged 38.3kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, the IONIQ Electric gives you a range of up to 311km[R1] (WLTP) on a single charge, with zero emissions.
2/8
Hyundai IONIQ Electric Large Multi-Media Touchscreen

10.25” multimedia touchscreen.

With Apple CarPlayTM[P1] and AndroidTM[P2] Auto compatibility, your IONIQ takes the things you like doing with your smartphone while driving and puts them safely on your extra-large built-in display. Make calls, send and receive messages, listen to music and more, all in a way that allows you to stay focused on the road.
3/8
Hyundai IONIQ Electric Electric Gear Shift Buttons

Electronic gear shift.

The selection of Drive/Reverse/Park/Neutral modes is now instantaneous via the Shift-By-Wire system, located conveniently on the centre console (which is unique in itself for maximising storage space due to the absence of a transmission tunnel beneath it).
4/8
Hyundai IONIQ Electric Charging

3 recharge options.

By plugging into a 100kW charger at a DC fast-charging station, an 80% recharge will take 54 minutes (or 57 minutes with the 50kW charger). An AC charger at home[H0] or at the shops will take approximately 6 hrs and 5 minutes. The emergency charging cable located in the boot uses a standard 240V power outlet which takes longer to charge, so best to save this option for back-up situations.
Charging times may increase if peak charging rates are not achieved.
5/8
Hyundai IONIQ Electric Regenerative Breaking

Regenerative braking.

The IONIQ Electric utilises regenerative braking, which charges your battery each time you brake while driving, which maximises efficiency and prolongs your charge level. Steering wheel-mounted paddles allow you to increase or decrease the amount of regenerative braking you can potentially harvest.

Hyundai IONIQ Electric Smart Sensing with Car In Front

Sleek exterior silhouette.

To reduce aerodynamic drag, the IONIQ relies on a combination of complementary exterior design features: The flowing fastback body style, underbody flat panelling, front grille shutters, front bumper air ducts (which create an air curtain around the front wheels to improve high-speed aerodynamic efficiency), and an integrated boot tailgate rear spoiler.

Your IONIQ, your way.

In keeping with our design philosophy of sophisticated simplicity, we’ve kept the colour palette range available for both variants focused, classic and carefully thought out.

Interior elegance, stylishly and ethically.

Sugar-cane by-products account for 25% of the raw materials used in the soft-touch door trim panels, while recycled plastic, powdered wood and volcanic stone make up 10% of the eco-friendly plastics on other interior surfaces. Additionally, bio-fabrics have been used to create the headliner and carpet, with sugar-cane by-products accounting for 20% of those raw materials.

Safety first and foremost.

IONIQ is equipped with Hyundai SmartSenseTM[H1] safety technologies.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist - City/Urban/Interurban/Pedestrian.

The front radar sensor and windshield-mounted camera detect and monitor vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists in front of you. If a potential collision is detected, you’ll receive audible and visual warnings, and your brakes may be applied too.
Smart_Cruise_Control_Icon.svg

Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

Detects the speed and distance of vehicles ahead of you, and maintains a safe distance from them. In stop/start traffic, it will automatically bring you to a stop when appropriate, then automatically accelerate back up to the original set speed.
Lane_Keeping_Assist_Icon.svg

Lane Keeping Assist - Line.

At speeds of +60 km/h, if your IONIQ detects that it’s straying out of its lane without its indicators being activated, an audible and visual alert will be triggered.
Lane_Keeping_Assist_Icon.svg

Lane Following Assist.

Lane Following Assist (LFA) uses the front windshield mounted camera to detects lane markers on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane. If activated via the “User Settings” menu in the Supervision cluster, LFA is active whenever Smart Cruise Control is operating, lane markers are detected, and the vehicle speed is less than 180km/h.
Blindspot_Collision_Avoidance_Assist_Icon.svg

Blind-Spot Collision Warning.

Radar sensors on the rear bumper will alert you to vehicles next to and diagonally behind you, in case you haven’t already noticed them.
Rear_Cross-Traffic_Collision-Avoidance_Assist_Icon.svg

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning.

Keeps an eye out for vehicles approaching from either side of you when you’re reversing out of a perpendicular parking space. If it detects them, audible and visual warnings will activate.
High_Beam_Assist_Icon.svg

High Beam Assist.

Scans the road ahead for lights, then automatically adjusts headlamp range, switching between high and low beam.
Driver_Attention_Warning_Icon.svg

Driver Attention Warning.

If the system detects erratic steering, sudden braking or an inability to stay within your lane, driving alerts will appear on your screen. Based on how long you’ve been driving, it may also recommend you take a break.

Dynamic driving.

Thanks to its electric motor's instant acceleration, the 100% electric IONIQ proves that zero-emission, alternative propulsion vehicles can be energetic, fun and engaging to drive.
